ABOUT US

Founded in 2021 by a group of dedicated immigrants and refugees, LA Youth Network emerged from the collective passion of young leaders determined to drive meaningful change. Our journey to establish this organization is deeply rooted in our personal experiences. Reflecting on our own struggles, we recognized the myriad challenges that young immigrants and refugees face in Lewiston and Auburn. We saw it as both our home and a place that often failed to provide the necessary opportunities and resources for its immigrant and refugee youth. The struggles were palpable, the challenges daunting, and the prospects for advancement limited. Our personal stories painted a vivid picture of the status quo—a reality where underserved youth were marginalized and their potential overlooked. We knew then, as we know now, that this reality needed to be challenged. We had the drive, the lived experiences, and the resolve to make a difference. This realization fueled our determination to inspire and ignite change, leading to the creation of the LA Youth Network. Our organization was born out of a passion to uplift and enrich the lives of underserved immigrants and refugees who, like us, strive for better opportunities and a brighter future.
